- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪My doctor left this practice, I received absolutely no advance notice of this in the form of a letter and email or anything. Have called to find out who will be taking care of my health care, no one can tell me anything. Asked who my emergency room records have gone to as they have been forwarded Kansas City Internal Medicine. The receptionist on the phone told me that just because records were coming to them doesn't mean that any doctor was seeing them. She then told me I was free to pick another doctor there as long as they were accepting new patients and I could wait for their first new patient appointment. Let her know that I needed in emergency room follow up visit and am to be seen sooner. She told me that's not the way it works. Does this count as medical abandonment?
