- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪Here are the events that unfolded. These are just the facts about the timeline. Dr.Kirkpatrick M.D. saw me for a sore big toe. I told him it was gout that was diagnosed during a previous years back. There was a blood test done and an x-ray in his office. I waited for the Dr. Kirkpatrick to look at the x-rays. He guessed and said it was a stress fracture and mentioned sending me to an expert at Northland Bone and Joint located in an office above Gashland Clinic. His nurse said she made the appointment Dr. Bleazard with handed me a CD-ROM of the x-ray and wanted me to take it up stairs to be evaluated. This is not part of the facts but I assumed they sent me specifically to to have him confirm and deny, my mistake. I waited to be seen at Northland Bone and Joint. Dr. Bleazard was very concerned about a more serious issue to do with a larger tendon and joint further up on my foot. He had an x-ray done in his office because of that concern. Couldn't tell because of all the swelling and suggest a CT scan for my foot. Here is where I realized that would cost me $1300.00 dollars and decided to take my chances knowing it had a lot to do with my high levels of uric acid in my blood. After receiving a bill for over $100 from Northland Bone and Joint I was upset and ended up defending my anger with the office manager wanting to start a camping against the office for neglecting to consider cost along with the prognosis. Knowing I was upset Dr. Bleazard went the extra yard to call me and reassure that he wasn't aware of the costs but was more concerned with getting the prognosis correct, for my safety of course. I first set this review as a one star before he called but have changed it because of his concern (for all of it). Still there was no effort to refund the extra cost of $100 dollars. If money wasn't a concern why didn't they just pay for it out of the courtesy of me as a patient?July 02, 2017by Daniel Swiss
